Get Your Website Seen With Improved SEO

If you have an internet-based business, one of your key marketing concerns is trying to get people to see your website because, quite simply, if people can't find you, your not going to make any sales. One of the best ways to get seen is to get placement on the first two pages of Google or other search engines. There are ways you can increase your search engine optimization, or SEO, that take a little bit of effort but could, in the end, make or break your business.
Ideally, you want your business to pop up on the first two pages of the search engine results page because the better your SEO, the better your chances of increasing traffic to your website.
Just for fun, type in something pertaining to your business, something a person would search for if looking for your particular product. Where does your business rank? if it's on the first or second page, you're in good shape. But what if you're on page 20? or 200?Chances are no one who is looking for your product will ever get to you. They'll click on one of the other sites that offer the same product.
It doesn't matter if your products are better or if you have a prettier website, what matters is being seen. With all the competition out there, how do you increase your SEO.
Chances are you have a limited marketing and advertising budget and improving your SEO is one of the few ways you can go head-to-head with the big hitters. Thankfully, there are ways you can increase your SEO without spending a penny, but it will take some work.
The key is keywords. Keywords are the words that someone will type in the search bar if they are looking for a particular product. Google ''ranks'' sites based on keywords to determine if its a quality site. It's all done by computer and is based on what there computer recognizes as a quality site, or one that matches the keyword typed in.
Google has a free web analytics program that helps determine what keywords people would use to find your business. That's the first step. Then make certain those keywords are featured prominently on your website. Another thing to consider is your domain name.You should pick something that is close to the name of the product you are selling. For example, if you sell business software on your site, something like BusinessSoftware.com is a terrific domain name. Having a good domain name can increase your SEO dramatically.
Link-backs are another way to increase your search engine visibility. Link-backs are just that--- other places on the internet that link-back to your website. You can do this by several ways, including blogging, writing articles for online publications, issuing press releases, social networking, ect. The bigger your presence on the web, the better your SEO.Increasing your SEO doesn't happen by itself, you have to work constantly at it. It's an on going part of doing business on-line. Treat it like a game---one that you want to win.
